Coaches for trade fair groups
Trade fair groups travel in a narrow window. The halls open in the morning, everyone wants to arrive at once, and the evening return meets the crowds leaving. The coach plan starts with the rules of the Messe itself.
Every Messe has its own coach rules
Rules differ from fair to fair, even on the same grounds. Messe München has separate coach parking a few minutes' walk from the halls, and shuttle buses may use its bus stops for up to 30 minutes. Leipziger Messe has coach parking in car park P2. Deutsche Messe in Hannover marks coach parking on its site plan. For the Grüne Woche, Messe Berlin sends coach groups through Tor 25 to the drop-off at Hall 27.
Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Köln and Nürnberg publish no coach rules for their fairs. There, the operator confirms the stopping point with the organiser before the trip.

Hotels, entrances and the green sticker
Fair visitors often sleep in hotels spread across a city and its edges. A loop between two or three hotels and one entrance works better than a single coach calling everywhere. Name the entrance too, as the large grounds have several.
Some grounds sit next to an airport. Messe Stuttgart is directly beside Stuttgart airport, and Messe Düsseldorf is about 3 km from Düsseldorf airport. Others lie inside an Umweltzone, where the coach needs the green sticker, foreign coaches included.
Rules the organiser should know
- Messe Frankfurt is served by S-Bahn lines S3, S4, S5 and S6 (station Frankfurt (Main) Messe) and by the U4 from the Hauptbahnhof to Festhalle/Messe at the City entrance; the airport is about 15 minutes away by road; Messe Frankfurt publishes no coach parking or drop-off rules, so confirm them with the organiser of each fair
- Messe München is reached by U-Bahn U2 (Messestadt West and Messestadt Ost), about 20 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof without changing; the Messe gives München airport as 42 km away
- Deutsche Messe in Hannover marks coach parking (Parkplatz Bus) on its site plan; tram lines 8 and 6 reach the North and East entrances, and the airport is about 30 minutes away by road
- NürnbergMesse has its own U-Bahn stop (U1 Messe), about 8 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof, and is about 25 minutes from the airport; it publishes no coach rules
- Leipziger Messe has coach parking in car park P2 and a long-distance bus stop on the grounds; tram 16 ends at Messegelände, and Leipzig/Halle airport is about 10 to 15 minutes away by motorway
When the train is the better link
For some groups, a coach to the hotel and the train to the halls is simpler. Messe Frankfurt has its own S-Bahn station. NürnbergMesse is about 8 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof on the U1. Messe München is about 20 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof on the U2, with no change.
Keep the coach for the journeys the train does badly: arrival day with suitcases, an evening event at another venue, or exhibitors carrying samples and stand material.
Questions organisers ask
Can the coach wait at the hall entrance all day?
Rarely. At bauma, outside shuttle buses could stop at the East entrance bus terminal for up to 10 minutes and had to register in advance. Expect short stops and a separate coach park.
When are the big spring fairs in 2027?
HANNOVER MESSE runs from 5 to 8 April 2027, and the Leipziger Buchmesse from 18 to 21 March 2027. Hotels fill early for both, so book coaches together with rooms.
Does a fair of several days change the driver plan?
Yes. Early hall openings and evening dinners soon add up. A coach on a fixed loop may need two drivers in shifts. Send the daily timetable and the operator plans it.
