A Booking Service for Group Coaches in Germany
We arrange coach hire with a driver for groups travelling in Germany. A partner operator that has a suitable vehicle available that day runs the trip, and we handle everything about the booking.
Two jobs, clearly split
Ours: read your plan, take it to a partner operator, send the quote, confirm the booking and pass on every change. You deal with us from the first message to the return journey.
The operator's: provide and maintain the coach, employ the driver, insure the trip and plan the driving inside the legal hours. A tachograph records driving, breaks and rest. On the road, safety and route are the driver's call.
What the law asks of a partner operator
German law treats paid coach work as passenger transport under the PBefG (Personenbeförderungsgesetz). Excursions, holiday trips and the hire of a whole bus with a driver all count as occasional services (Gelegenheitsverkehr), and each needs an authorisation. When a group hires the whole bus, the group decides the purpose, the destination and the course of the trip.
Drivers need the right licence: category D for coaches and midibuses, D1 for minibuses of up to 16 passengers and 8 m long, plus the code 95 qualification. A car with driver runs as a Mietwagen, and the person driving it needs a permit to carry passengers.
Who we work for
Mostly people who move a group, not individuals. Teachers organising a Klassenfahrt. A Verein board taking members to a match or a festival. The colleague in HR planning the Betriebsausflug. Choir and club secretaries. Tour leaders running a programme over several days.
What we do not do
We do not own vehicles or employ drivers. There is no rate card, because the cost of a trip only exists once an operator has looked at it. We do not sell seats on scheduled coaches or package tours: your group has the coach to itself.
Where the planning notes come from
The rules on these pages come from public sources: federal law, the Umweltbundesamt, city and tourism-board sites, airport and port operators, Messe operators and event organisers. Distances and drive times are approximate car figures in light traffic. A coach is slower.
Umweltzonen move most. Heidelberg lifted its zone in 2023, Hanover in 2024 and Freiburg in 2025, while Leipzig, Bremen and Regensburg still require the green sticker. Treat every zone note as a rule to check before travel.
Questions organisers ask
Do you run any coaches yourselves?
No. Every vehicle and every driver comes from a partner operator. We arrange the booking and handle changes.
Can I see a price before asking?
No. A figure exists only once an operator has costed your date, hours and distance. Asking for a quote commits you to nothing.
Our trip starts in a small town. Is that a problem?
No. The city pages are planning notes, not limits. Send the pickup address and the request goes out to partner operators.
Tell us about the trip
Headcount, date and a list of places are enough to start. Once an operator has costed it, you decide whether to go ahead.
