Coach Pickups at Twelve German Airports
A coach rarely waits at the terminal door. Each airport has its own place for coaches, its own time limits and, at some, a registration step. One page per airport below.
Where the coach actually stops
At Berlin Brandenburg the forecourts take vehicles up to 3.5 t only, so coaches use Bus Stop B opposite Terminal 1. At Frankfurt coaches use P36 at Terminal 1 or the P62 lane at Terminal 3, which is for loading only. Düsseldorf's arrivals level is a no-stopping zone. At Cologne Bonn a planned coach arrival is registered at least 24 hours ahead.
Distance shapes the day too. From Munich Airport to Marienplatz is about 39 km by road; in Bremen the airport is about 4 km from the Marktplatz. Only Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Cologne Bonn have ICE trains at the airport, which matters if part of the group comes by rail.
Questions organisers ask
What do you need for an airport pickup?
Flight number, scheduled arrival, headcount and how much luggage. The meeting point and the coach's stopping place are agreed with the operator when booking.
Which Frankfurt terminal will we use?
The one on your booking. Airlines have moved between terminals since Terminal 3 opened, so go by the ticket, not by habit.
Can a minibus use the kerb when a coach cannot?
Sometimes. At Berlin Brandenburg the forecourts are open to vehicles up to 3.5 t, which takes in cars and light minibuses but no coach.
