From the Reisebus to the Car: Six Vehicle Sizes
Choose by headcount and luggage first, then check the streets on your route. Each vehicle comes from a licensed partner operator, driver included.
Seats first, streets second
For 49 to 57 people, the full-size Reisebus, with luggage stowed below. For 29 to 35, the Midibus, which turns more easily in old towns. A Kleinbus or Sprinter-type minibus takes up to 16 passengers. A car with driver carries 1 to 3, or up to 8 in a van-type car. Wheelchair users travel in an accessible minibus, where each wheelchair place takes the room of seats.
Then the route. Every bus entering an Umweltzone needs the green sticker. Rothenburg's old town has a 3.90 m height limit, and Nuremberg has railway underpasses as low as 3.60 m, so the operator plans the way in.

Questions organisers ask
Which licence does the driver hold?
A coach or midibus driver holds category D. A minibus with no more than 16 passenger seats and a length of up to 8 m needs D1. On top of the licence, professional drivers carry the code 95 qualification.
What speed can a coach do on the Autobahn?
80 km/h as standard. 100 km/h is allowed only when the registration papers say so, every seat has a belt and the limiter is set no higher than 100.
How is a car with driver different from a taxi?
A Mietwagen carries only bookings made with the operator in advance, so nobody can hail it in the street. After a job it returns to base unless a new booking has come in.
