Coach Hire at Warnemünde Cruise Port
Warnemünde is the port where Baltic cruises call for Berlin. The capital is about 243 km away, so a Berlin excursion is a long coach day, and the port has rules of its own.
Registered before the ship arrives
Excursion agencies, travel companies and shuttle services need advance registration with the port operator before they get terminal access. The operator supplying the coach handles this. Send the ship, the date and the berth early so there is time.
There is no parking at the terminal during ship calls; in peak season the area is kept for port logistics. The coach sets down and picks up, and waits somewhere else.

Berths and step-free access
Six berths line the Warnemünde Passagierkai: P1 to P4, P7 and P8. Two more, LP31 and LP41, are over in the Rostock Überseehafen, the seaport, and that is a different pickup altogether. For wheelchair users, P7 and P8 have step-free terminal buildings equipped for disabled passengers. Tell us who needs what, so the vehicle suits.
Ship to coach: what to plan
- Warnemünde is the cruise port for Berlin day trips: the Brandenburger Tor is about 243 km by road (about 2 h 30 min by car in light traffic; a coach takes longer), so a Berlin shore excursion is a long day.
- Shore excursion agencies, travel companies and shuttle services must register with the port operator in advance to get access to the terminal.
- Parking at the cruise terminal is not allowed during ship calls; at peak season the area is kept for port logistics.
- Warnemünde railway station is about 500 m (about 5 minutes on foot) from the cruise terminal.
- S-Bahn trains run between Warnemünde and Rostock Hauptbahnhof every 7.5 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes off-peak; from Rostock Hauptbahnhof there are trains to Berlin.
- Central Rostock (Neuer Markt) is about 15 km by road from the terminal (about 20 min in light traffic).
- Schwerin is about 98 km by road (about 1 h 10 min) and Lübeck about 133 km (about 1 h 30 min) in light traffic.
- Rostock-Laage airport is the nearest airport, about 46 km by road (about 40 min in light traffic).
Airports for this port

The Berlin day, inside the drivers' hours
By car the Brandenburger Tor is about 2 h 30 min away in light traffic; a coach takes longer. There and back is close to 500 km. A driver may drive 9 hours a day, 10 hours twice a week, and must stop for 45 minutes once 4.5 hours have been driven. The operator plans the day inside those limits, and the time in Berlin is what remains.
Berlin has an Umweltzone inside the S-Bahn ring, and every vehicle needs the green sticker there, coaches registered abroad included. The ship's all-aboard time fixes the latest departure from Berlin. Leave a margin for the motorway.
Shorter days out
Rostock's Neuer Markt: 15 km, twenty minutes or so. Schwerin: 98 km, about seventy minutes. Lübeck: 133 km, an hour and a half. Both towns fit an ordinary call with time to walk the old town.
