Coach Trips to the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt
The Christkindlesmarkt fills the Hauptmarkt and the old-town streets from 27 November to 24 December 2026, daily from 10:00 to 21:00. Coaches stop at the edge of the Altstadt, never inside it.
Set down at P1 or P2
Nuremberg's Altstadt is medieval and narrow, and coaches may not drive into it. During the market, coaches set down and pick up at P1 Vestnertorgraben or P2 Grasersgasse, on the edge of the old town, where service staff help. The group leaves and rejoins the coach at the same point.
Scheduled buses have the ZOB, the central bus station, to themselves. It is no place for a set-down.
Parking at the Volksfestplatz
After set-down, coaches go to the parking area the tourist office runs at the Volksfestplatz, Bayernstraße 100, with signs and staff on the ground. It is about 6 km from the Hauptmarkt, some 12 minutes in light traffic, so the coach needs that time to come back for the pickup.
The tourist office publishes the dates of this coach service each year in late September. The current arrangement is confirmed with your booking.

Guests with reduced mobility
In market season, Augustinerstraße is closed to coaches all day. The one exception is a coach with passengers of reduced mobility, and it needs a special access permit from the city for that entry, booked online. Set-down and pick-up count as separate entries. Tell us early if you need this.
Timing the visit
On 24 December the market closes at 14:00. Weekday visits usually mean fewer people in the lanes than weekend evenings. Nuremberg has no Umweltzone, so no green sticker is needed in the city, and the airport is about 7 km from the Hauptmarkt.

When is the market in 2027?
Dates for 2027 are announced as 26 November to 24 December. The opening is always the Friday ahead of the first Advent Sunday, performed by the Nuremberg Christkind.
Can the coach wait at Vestnertorgraben?
Not during the market: it sets down there and parks at the Volksfestplatz. Outside the market season, Vestnertorgraben has 15 coach spaces for up to 2 hours.
What should the group leader hand out?
The pickup point, P1 or P2, and the pickup time, written down for everyone. Old-town lanes look alike after dark.
